Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the website and booking services of The Makery Inc. ("The Makery," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, booking a session, camp, or party, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

Our services

The Makery is a children's play and activity centre in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Through our website you can book open play, lab sessions, camps, birthday parties, and related programs, purchase gift cards and class packs, and manage your family's bookings.

Your account

To book, you create an account and provide accurate, current information about your family. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Bookings and payments

• Prices are shown in Canadian dollars and are payable at the time of booking unless we agree otherwise.
• Payments are processed securely by our payment provider. We do not store your full card number.
• Gift cards, promo codes, and class packs are subject to any limits shown at the time, including expiry dates and single-use restrictions.
• A spot is only confirmed once payment (or full coverage by a gift card, credit, or pack) is complete.
• We make every effort to show accurate availability, but a booking may occasionally fail if a spot fills at the same moment. If that happens, you are not charged, or we work with you to make it right.

Cancellations, refunds, and credits

We do not provide refunds for any booking. Different programs have their own terms, which we also make clear at the time of booking. To request a change, email us at info@themakeryspace.com.

Sessions (Slime Lab, open play, and workshops): If you need to cancel, we are happy to issue a credit to your account, provided you contact us 48 hours in advance.

Camps: We are happy to move your booking to another date in the future, or issue a credit to your account, as long as you give us at least 48 hours notice.

Parties: We are happy to reschedule your party to another date, as long as you give us at least two weeks notice.

Field trips: If poor weather means your group cannot travel to us (by bus, or on foot if you are walking), we are happy to rebook your trip. Rebooking is subject to availability, and some times of year fill up quickly, especially May and June.

Gift cards: Gift cards are non-refundable.

For all programs, if your child is unwell and cannot attend, please contact us to discuss your options.

Waivers and participation

A signed waiver is required for every child who participates. By signing, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian (or are authorized to sign) and that you accept the waiver's terms. We may decline participation if a valid waiver is not in place.

Health, safety, and supervision

Please give us accurate information about your child's allergies and any health conditions so our staff can help keep them safe. Our staff guide the activities, but they do not replace your supervision. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children while at The Makery, as set out in our waiver and house rules.

Conduct

We want The Makery to be safe and welcoming for everyone. We ask that everyone follow our house rules and treat staff and other families with respect. We may ask anyone to leave for behaviour that is unsafe, disruptive, or harmful to others, without a refund.

Photography and media

As described in our waiver, we may take photos or video at The Makery and use them to promote our programs. If you would prefer your child not appear in our promotional photos, let a staff member know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Our content

The Makery name, logo, website, and content belong to us and may not be copied or used without our permission.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Participation in activities at The Makery involves inherent risks, which you accept as set out in our waiver. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Makery is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of our services or participation in our programs, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the booking in question. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of our services means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada that apply there. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of Alberta.
