Open Play

How much is entry?+

It's $25 for the first child and $20 for each sibling, plus GST. Children under two years of age are free with a paying sibling.

Is there a cost for parents to attend?+

No, up to two adults are included in the ticket price. Additional adults are $8.00 each, which you can add during checkout.

Do I need to register a child under 2?+

If they're attending with a sibling, they're free, but please still include them on the waiver. If you're coming with a single child under 2, regular fees apply. Please note our space is designed for ages 2+ who aren't mouthing; there are small parts around, so close supervision of younger children is required.

What are the days and hours for open play?+

Our schedule varies through the year, with sessions on weekdays and weekends. In the late spring, weekday availability can be reduced due to year end field trip bookings. During summer and school breaks, weekday open play is replaced by camps for school-aged children. Open play general runs year-round on weekends, except during long weekends, special event periods (the weeks around Halloween and Christmas) and select other times. We are also closed for the entire two week Christmas break.

All sessions are two-hour windows and require pre-registration on our website.

Do I need to pre-register?+

To ensure a spot is available before travelling to us, please book your tickets on our website. If you run into any issues during the booking process, please reach out to us using the question button at the bottom of the screen.

What do children do during open play?+

Children have the run of all four of our labs, building in the STEM Lab, getting active in the Move Lab, making in the Mess Lab, and glowing in the Light Lab. See what's in each lab →

What should we wear and bring?+

Dress for mess as art and sensory play can get messy. Smocks are available on request, though most kids prefer to go without. We are a sock-foot space, so please bring socks (clean indoor shoes are welcome if needed for mobility). Bring a full water bottle as well, we do not have a water fountain on site.

What are the rules in the space?+

- We are a sock-foot space

- Please no strollers in our space

- Food and drink are not allowed in the playrooms, though spill-proof water bottles and coffee cups are fine

- Please tidy your mess as you go to ensure a safe space for everyone and to prevent our materials from getting wrecked

- Please keep the materials in the room you found them in, and please do not take things out of cupboards or off shelves in the mess lab

Anything to know about the Mess Lab on weekends?+

On weekends the Mess Lab closes a little earlier than the other rooms so we can prepare it for birthday parties. If the Mess Lab is a must for your visit, pop in there first.

What if we fall ill on the day of our booking?+

Please let us know as soon as you can and we'll look at rebooking you for another date.

Slime Lab

What is Slime Lab?+

A drop-in slime-making class for ages 5 and up. Each week features a different slime to make, and children take their creation home in a decorated jar. It runs about 45 minutes and is $25 per child plus GST. There is also the option to add an open play session for $10 when combined with your slime lab booking (normally $25).

Does a parent stay during Slime Lab?+

Yes, Slime Lab is a parented session, so please plan to stay with your child.

My child has sensitive skin, is Slime Lab suitable?+

Please use your judgement. If your child often reacts to things on their skin, slime may not be the right fit, as we use various items with different chemicals and scents.

What is included?+

All the ingredients to make the featured slime of the week, a quality jar with a lid, and decor for the jar. Just bring a full water bottle, we do not have a water fountain on site.

Workshops

What are workshops?+

Hands-on creative sessions on a rotating set of themes. Each workshop lists its own age range, price and details when it is posted, so check the listing for specifics.

Are workshops drop-off or parented?+

It varies by workshop. Drop-off workshops are marked as such and will ask for an emergency contact when you book. The listing tells you which type it is.

What should we bring?+

Camps

Who are camps for?+

Camps are for children in Kindergarten through Grade 6. All ages are mixed together as children pursue their own interests, which lets older kids mentor the younger ones.

What are the hours?+

Camp programming runs 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Early drop-off from 7:30 AM and late pick-up until 5:15 PM are available for working families who need it.

What should my child bring?+

Please pack: nut-free snacks and lunch (with an ice pack if needed, there is no fridge on site), a full water bottle, a sun hat and sunscreen for outdoor play, a sweater or jacket, and in cooler weather mittens, snow pants, a toque or ear muffs and boots. Also send a change of clothes and clean indoor shoes, plus socks since we are a sock-foot space. Please label everything with your child's name, as things get misplaced.

Do you go outside?+

Yes, weather permitting we head outside for about an hour, so please dress your child for the outdoors.

Do camps sell out?+

They often do, so it's best to book early to secure your child's spot.

The total party booking is 2 hours and 15 minutes, and the activity and food take place in our Mess Lab.

What activities can we choose from?+

How does the party flow?+

You're welcome to arrive 15 minutes early to settle in. The first hour is open play, and we close the Mess Lab about 30 minutes in to prepare it for your party. Guests then come in for the activity (about 30 to 45 minutes), followed by food and cake (about 30 to 45 minutes), with 15 minutes at the end to pack up. Timings flex a little with the group's engagement.

Can we bring food and a cake?+

Yes you can. Bring a cooler for anything that needs refrigerating, as we do not have a fridge available.

How do guest waivers work?+

Every guest needs a signed waiver before participating. We'll share a link you can pass along to your guests so everyone can sign ahead of time. Our system will link all waivers to your profile so we can easily see who signed during drop off.

Will you confirm numbers with us?+
